How To Play the Sight Word Bug Splat Game
This Resource Includes:
★ 17 pages of colorful bugs with 1 sight word on each bug. Sight Words include Fry’s First 100 words.
Supplies Needed:
- Printer
- Laminator
- Hand Shaped Bug Swatter
Directions:
- Click the button at the end of the post and download the Sight Word Bug Splat.
- Print on cardstock or regular paper. Printing tip: Always click on print preview before printing and choose fit to printable area or print to fit to size. This will ensure the printable doesn’t get off when printing.
- After printing, laminate each of the bugs and cut them out. To make it easier to cut, cut along the dotted lines that forms a square. This is easier than trying to cut the outline of each bug out.
- Play the game! Spread out a few bug cards at a time and call out one of the sight words. Have the student “swat” the correct sight word (bug). This works well with one player or several. If several students are playing, make sure to evenly spread out the bugs in front of them, and the first student to “splat” the correct bug wins. *Challenge- The more bugs you place on the table, the more challenging it will be to identify the correct sight word.
