- After printing the Santa letter, have children begin their writing. For older children, they may be able to write the letter to Santa independently. My 7 year old was able to do the writing on her own, with some help with spelling. For my preschooler, I read the letter to him and then wrote his answers for him. We then placed them into the envelope and off to Santa they went!
- I did not physically mail the letters to Santa. However, if you are in need of presents for your children for any reason, the post office has a program called USPS Operation Santa. Have your child write to Santa and mail it to the address below with their wishes for Christmas. There is no guarantee, but someone may adopt the letter and send a gift from their wish list to your child.
Here is how it works:
- Mail your child’s Santa letter to Santa’s mailing address at 123 Elf Road North Pole, 88888
- Include your full name and return address along with your apartment number in the upper left corner
- Attach a First-Classâ„¢ stamp in the upper right corner
- Place your letter in any USPS box near you.
- Here are a few tips from the website to make writing and sending the letter a little easier. .
~Write legibly
~Include your full name and address in the letter
~List the gifts you want in order of preferences
~Be specific about the gifts you’re asking for
~People may not be able to fill wishes for very expensive gifts
~Make sure you postmark it by December 11 - You can also visit the website HERE for more information and to answer any additional questions
